Therefore, the use of corticosteroids is restricted to the AH patients without infection, which eliminates a substantial proportion of patients 126. The spectrum of ALD can include simple hepatic steatosis, acute alcoholic hepatitis, and alcoholic cirrhosis. For example, stopping drinking once diagnosed with fatty liver disease may be able to reverse the condition within 2–6 weeks.
